His Club Career
After his training in Kadji Sport Academy in his home country camerooon,He went and join Real Madrid youth academy in 1997,but could not train with the Real Madrid team B, because of his age then.
Real Madrid team B,were demoted to the third tier Segunda Division B league due to relegation and when he was there non European player were not allowed and because of that he went to second division League.
He made over 30 appearances for the club but was able to record just four goals,during the end of the year 1998-1999 season he moved back to Real Madrid and later he was loaned to Espanyol Barcelona where he was featured just once for the club.
In the next transfer window he moved to Mallorca on loan and he was able to record some good number of goals up to six goals and featured in more matches and by the end of the season he signed a permanent deal with the club Mallorca with the amount that is up to 4.4 million euro and left Real Madrid,in second season he score 11 goals and start to gain more recognition in La Liga league.
Mallorca president Mateo Alemany said he wonderded if there was any other player in the world that could actually please the heart of his fans just as he did at that time,moreover,the player himself at that time commented about his sudden rise to such level of recogniton and confess his good mood about his stay in Mallorca. He appreciated the fact that he was very cared for and the fans were motivating and encouraging him by the support they were giving him.
He appreciated everything about the club concerning his stay at Mallorca that he was excited to donate amount that worth 30,000 euro for meal to support the Mallorca support group who were among the fans that made it to the Copa Del Rey finals against Recreativo de Huevo in 2003.
Good enough Malloca won the match with a high goal margin (3-0) with Samuel Eto'o scoring two goals that came late and that helped them to seal the victory deal.
Eto'o made more appearances for Mallorca and score more goals in his name against Real Madrid,interestingly he was able to win more games that brought him more recogntion day by day and now its his chance to play for the Catalan side.
Eto'o became the highest goal scorer in Mallorca before he departed to join the bigger side and coated his career with gold
The African genius scored (54) goals in Mallorca before he was officially transfered to Barcelona in the 2004 summer transfer at the transfer fee worth 24 million euro,after some kind of bid issues with Madrid attempting to bring back the player to their side but eventually the deal went to Barcelona's favour and finally Samuel Eto'o landed in Camp Nou.
He made his first debut in the begining of the season at the Racing Desantanda on 29th August 2004.after when the Catalans won the most prestgious league title in Spain talking about the La Liga title in 2002-2005 football season.He later signed more official contract with Barcelona in june 2005.
In 2005-2006 season Eto'o progressed with Barcelona claiming some remarkable achievements when he was given the award of highest goal scorer La Liga league as he scored 26 goals,Eto'o was very happy and could not forget to appreciate his team mates in his comment when he said ''' it has been a team efforts although only one player gets the award,we have worked hard all season and we have got our just reward.
Samuel Eto'o also contributed immensely to Barcelona that made them won the champions league title in 2005-2006 against Arsenal,Eto'o recorded a goal in his name and helped Barcelona to defeat the English club side (2-1).
Eto'o was awarded the UEFA best forward.
Very remarkably, Samuel Eto'o added to his achievement by winning the African best player of the year three times back to back.He was nominated for the world best player award and become the second African player to have been voted for into the top three after the Liberian genius George Weah
During the new Champions league campaign in 2006 Samuel Eto'o had an injury in his right knee in the match against Weder Bremen on 27th september,2006 and medically he would be out for over three months as said by the Barcelona's medical personnel,Eto'o was subjected to medical operation and finally recover after about five months and resume training in Camp Nou in January 2007.
For now this is the little i could actually tell you about the African genius,even though his football history and achievements can't be overemphasized.
